Kirk Cameron’s New Family Movie “Mercy Rule”

By Ben Kayser, Managing Editor

A few weeks ago, Kirk Cameron revealed he was making a new family movie with comedian Tim Hawkins. In an exclusive interview with Movieguide®, Kirk revealed the premise of his next movie MERCY RULE and stated when audiences can expect it.

Kirk explains, “Baseball fans know, Mercy Rule is when you’re beating the other team so badly, you invoke the mercy rule, which lets them off the hook. This is a family film that my wife and I play husband and wife. Bas Rutten from HERE COMES THE BOOM plays the baseball coach, and Tim Hawkins, the comedian who sings the Chick-Fil-A song, plays my brother. This is a movie about a family who learns the kingdom lessons of patience, mercy, sacrifice, legacy, and trusting God.”

When Kirk made the initial announcement, he also asked his 1.4 million fans whether they’d like to see the movie in theaters, on DVD or available for digital download. The response was overwhelming, people want good family friendly content now, so Kirk and his family studio Camfam Studios decided to give audiences what they want. MERCY RULE is available for purchase right now on DVD and Digital Download thanks to an exclusive partnership with Family Christian Stores. Those who purchase it on DVD should receive it by Valentine’s Day 2014. Check back soon for Movieguide®’s review of MERCY RULE.

“Just like FIREPROOF restored marriages, I’m so excited, because I believe MERCY RULE will strengthen families with kids.”

In addition to MERCY RULE, Kirk is currently working on a Christmas movie expected later this year that addresses the importance of the holiday and its Christian roots.

Day 2 National Week of Prayer for Homeschool Families

As we continue with the NATIONAL WEEK OF PRAYER FOR HOMESCHOOL FAMILIES, let’s pray this for each other, homeschool mom friends, on this, the day to focus on homeschooling mothers:

Please pray for homeschooling mothers to walk generously in the
fruit of the Spirit. Pray that every moment in their day would
be filled with much rejoicing and gentleness. Pray for their
hearts to be encouraged as they fill so many different roles in
their family, church, and community. Pray for their minds to be
focused on the Lord and that they will trust everything to Him,
not giving place to comparisons. Pray for protection of
marriages.

Philippians 4:4-7 ~ Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say,
rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is
at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known
to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Please pray for homeschooling fathers to walk in integrity
before the Lord in every area of their lives. Pray for their
hearts to be turned towards their children and that they may
instill in them a love for Christ and His Church. Pray for these
men as they carry such an important responsibility for the
spiritual care and physical provision of their families. Pray for
protection of marriages.

Proverbs 20:7 ~ The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their
children who follow them.
