As the Breath of God Blew into Households, I Saw the Nations Tremble!

As the Breath of God Blew into Households, I Saw the Nations Tremble!

Bill Yount

Genesis 2:18 …It is not good for the man to be alone…

I believe we have overlooked and underestimated the awesome power that is hidden in our families. When God created us He placed us in a family. There is something about a family atmosphere that generates the power for us to subdue the earth and bring His Kingdom into the affairs of this world. I believe satan feared the seed of the woman—for it would have the power to destroy him. He well knew that even our children would contend with him in the gate (see Psalm 127:5). I believe this is why the Lord’s desire has always been to “set the solitary (the lonely, widows, orphans and the fatherless) in families” (Psalm 68:6).

The Greatest “National Treasure” is in Your House

In the story in 2 Kings 4, Elisha visits a widow with two sons, and she happens to have just a little oil left. Her sons were about to be taken as slaves because of the debt she owed. The government could not help her. So, she comes to Elisha for help. Elisha asked her, “What do you have in your house?” She had looked everywhere for her answer except in her own house. In other words, Elisha was saying to her, “You don’t know the awesome miracle power that is in your own house!”

I believe today many are looking to see what is in the White House that will save our nation. But God is asking His people this hour, “What is in your house? Do you realize the greatest ‘national treasure’ is in your own house?” I believe that great “national treasure” lies within our family members. Many times, diamonds in the rough are hard to see. The troubles that have come into your family are about to bless you!

“I’m Equipping Families to Take Their Nations!”

Joshua 24:15 …As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

I believe as Joshua was declaring to the nation of Israel to choose life or death, he was proclaiming the importance of not only his personal choice, but also his heart for his family.

I sensed Joshua’s heart for every father and mother was for them to decree that their families would serve the Lord, also. Was he sensing the power that families hold in influencing the whole nation from being destroyed? I sense he believed that if God could save him, God could save his family. And I further sense that he was believing if God could save his family, He could also save the whole nation! He believed that the “national treasure” was in his house!

Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

I sense that we need to decree now more than ever that our whole household shall be saved, and begin to decree over America: “One Nation, Our Nation, Under God!” Our Father still has this dream in His heart that not only your family, but a whole nation can be saved in a day!

Isaiah 66:8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Could it be, ever since the garden of Eden, that the enemy well knows that families hold the hidden power to destroy his kingdom and deliver whole nations? Is it any wonder why he unleashes Hell upon families?

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

I believe this great outpouring was intended for our families first, and then God knew nothing else could stop it from going upon all flesh! I even sense that each family member has certain keys for the family’s health and deliverance that could ultimately result in the deliverance for our nation. Look again. I believe the answer for our nation is right inside of our own house!

“O America, May I Blow My Breath into Your Households?”

“O America, may I blow My breath into your households? I want to blow My breath into the nostrils of every family member. Great-grandparents down to the babies in the womb. I am about to make personal house calls in this nation. I am coming 3-D Technicolor straight to where you live. There are angels standing at attention with your personal addresses written on them that will be released to set up camp round about your dwelling place, to deliver family members far and near. Houses will be turned into homes.

“May I blow My breath into your households? Prodigals will phone home. Missing children unable to be found for many years will be rescued by the breath of My Spirit! I have been patient in the past with your family members who have resisted Me. I have gently knocked on the door of their house and hearts. But now I will huff and puff and blow the front door down! I’m coming in!”

The Miracle for Our Nation is in Our House!

I believe God’s own shofar is beginning to blow into our households right now, releasing the sounds of salvation, healing, deliverance and the equipping of whole families to take their nations! Receive it now!

Prayer: “Lord, we receive Your breath of life into our families’ nostrils to live again. We call each family member a royal priesthood, a chosen generation. We call those things that are not as though they already are. We call them saved, healed and delivered. We call them our ‘National Treasures’! We are going to accept our family members right where they are and love them unconditionally. We are going to treat them as though they are already saved. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!”

Happy Birthday to Our Courageous Hero!

Birthday Song from Barnyard for Daddy from Penney Douglas on Vimeo.

Gary loves this song. We heard it in an episode of “Barnyard” we got from the library. I guess they made a series based on the movie. We knew that Gary really liked that song, so the kids planned to surprise him with it as soon as he got home from work. He was surprised!

Handmade card by Anna for Daddy

Happy Birthday, Dear Daddy from Penney Douglas on Vimeo.

Everybody pitched in to throw Daddy a nice birthday party.

I got to watch everybody else do the cutting of the cake and serving since I had the video camera.

Morgan(9) and Garrett(6) made the German Chocolate cake and Anna made the Funfetti cake with strawberry icing, so I got off pretty easy as far as preparations for this party. I’m way more relaxed about these kinds of occasions than I used to be. And I’m not afraid to ask for help.

During the party, you see Fiona come and ask me about candy bags and  Garrett come and ask me about ice cream. The dentist loves them!

Not One, But Two Movies About Fatherhood Coming Soon

The same group that made the movie “Come What May” is making a movie about fatherhood, centering around baseball. The theme is about fathers getting involved in their children’s lives.

The Story

One man’s broken relationship with his son fills him with the determination to make a difference in his town, and to reach his own son. He forms a baseball team deliberately designed to involve both fathers and sons in a common effort. His actions begin to turn the heart of a father in prison, and transform a town. As fathers grow in their relationship with their sons, they learn that God the Father wants the same close relationship with them.

HERO is a powerful depiction of God’s desire to “turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers…” (Malachi 4:6)

For us homeschoolers, there is another poignant connection we have with this film besides the theme resonating in our hearts. The son of Chris Klicka, John, is acting in this film.

This is what Chris’s wife, Tracy, wrote about John’s involvement in the film, “Hero”:

HERO: A STORY WITHIN A STORY

“Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which Thou has done, and Thy thoughts toward us; there is none to compare with Thee; if I would declare and speak of them, they would be too numerous to count.” ~Psalm 40:5

Last summer John had an opportunity to audition for a small part in his first role in an independent Christian film, HERO (www.HeroFamilyMovie.com), by Advent Film Group. I’d been following and praying for AFG’s work since they produced their first full-length feature film, COME WHAT MAY, distributed on DVD in March of 2009. When John found out HERO was going to be a father/son story of reconciliation and healing surrounding a boys’ baseball team, he wanted to get involved.

Last summer, after being informed following John’s audition that AFG indeed wanted him to be a featured extra in HERO, Chris and I both prayerfully agreed that God wanted John to play the part of Grayson and have this experience working in an independent Christian film. The filming took place in September of last year during the same timeframe the rest of our family attended a national homeschool leadership conference in Colorado Springs. This meant John couldn’t be with us, but even still, we both felt it was the right step to take. John himself was okay with the idea of missing the national conference to be in the film; he only wished he could see a few really good friends who would be there.

Well, September came and I took John to North Carolina to start filming. I decided to stay a few days and make sure he was settled and felt connected to everyone there, which he immediately did! When it came time for me to go home and get ready to leave for our national conference the next day, John had no trouble saying good-bye. “See ya, Mom!” as he gave me a big hug and a kiss.

Those of you who have been following this Caring Bridge site may already be aware that I had to fly John out to CO Springs, leaving the HERO set three days early, so he could be with his dad the last two weeks of his life. My heart was anxious for John to be with his daddy, but felt badly that he had to be pulled off the set. God worked everything out with the film, however, and made it possible for him to be with his daddy and not disrupt the filming. Again, God does all things well!

This movie is in post-production right now. Please pray for their work and spread the word about it! It’s scheduled to be released in late 2010.

It looks really good. Here’s where you can watch the trailer:

Here’s a podcast they created exploring Biblical fatherhood and where it begins:

And that’s not the only great movie about fatherhood in the works. The Kendrick Brothers and Sherwood Pictures, makers of Facing the Giants and Fireproof, are at it again.

Their movie, Courageous, depicts the struggles many men have in keeping their priorities straight and devoting their time and efforts to raising their families.

The website shows their progress. Here’s the story line from their Synopsis page:

Four men, one calling: To serve and protect.

As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, and their partners are confident and focused. They willingly stand up to the worst the world can offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.

While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they’re quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark.

They know that God desires to turn the hearts of fathers to their children, but their children are beginning to drift further and further away from them. Will they be able to find a way to serve and protect those that are most dear to them?

When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God … and to their children?

Courageous is the fourth release of Sherwood Pictures, the moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Church in Albany, Georgia. Their first release since FIREPROOF, the No. 1 independent film of 2008, Courageous joins Facing the Giants and Flywheel in touching and impacting lives through heartfelt stories of faith and hope.

Moviegoers will again find themselves crying, laughing, and cheering—sometimes simultaneously—as they are inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children.

Protecting the streets is second nature to these law enforcement officers. Raising their children? That will take courage.

Courageous … honor begins at home.

Coming to theaters in 2011.

They are in post-production now. You can follow their progress on Facebook and Twitter. Please pray for them as they edit and put all the finishing touches on it. Editing 90 hours of film down to 2 hours can’t be easy.

Here is the website. Be sure to check out the blog!

Slightly Unorthodox School Day

Just another un-ordinary day at Safe Haven Academy.

I’ve been reading this book to the twins.  They really enjoy hearing about Noah’s Ark from the perspective of the animals.

Pre-storytime hijinks!

Abby kept herself busy with a computer game while I read to the big kids.

Kelsey taught the babies some preschool skills with Dr. Seuss’ Preschool game.

Fiona cooked bacon and eggs.

Kelsey helped feed Abby.

Anna watches Family Affair with the twins. Our real-life twins are fascinated by the TV twins, Buffy and Jody. There is lots to learn about the way our culture used to be at the time this was filmed and the different way people live in a big city from the way we have always lived.

Witness of the Holy Spirit

David Wilkerson Today

GOD TOLD ME SOMETHING I WAS NOT EXPECTING TO HEAR!

One night during a prayer meeting, God told me something about our church I was
not expecting to hear.

The Lord whispered to me, “This church needs shock treatment! Too many have
grown satisfied and complacent. You feel safe and secure from all the winds and
waves of false doctrines sweeping over the land—but you are not prepared for
what is coming!”

Beloved, the message of having the Spirit’s witness functioning in you is not
a request—it is a matter of life and death! If you don’t have the witness of
the Holy Ghost in these last days, you’re not going to make it! You’ll give
in to the coming spirit of the Antichrist!

You need the Holy Spirit witness every day—on your job, at work, at school.
You need to rightly judge politicians and leaders so you’ll not suddenly be
sucked into the antichrist system.

This is what Jesus was trying to tell us about the foolish virgins who ran out
of oil for their lamps. They had a supply of the Holy Ghost—but they didn’t
have his witness at the final moment.

Don’t end up a foolish virgin! If you are running out of oil—trusting your
church or your pastor to keep your soul—then repent! Humble yourself and
search your heart! Cry out to God to rid your soul of all anger and bitterness.
Confess your sins and forsake them. And depend on God once again for everything!

Get the peace of God in your heart, so you can have a Holy Ghost witness. And
ask the Father for a greater enduement of the Spirit. Invite him to be your
witness and guide in everything!

We face a cost of going all the way with Jesus, but we also will receive a
reward: It is simply the blessing of having Christ stand with us. There are
many other rewards as well (see Matthew 19:29), but I mention this one because
it is all we will ever need.

When Paul was imprisoned in Jerusalem, the whole religious system wanted to
kill him. They accused him of polluting the holy place and preaching false
doctrines. His life was in danger; even the soldiers were “fearing lest Paul
should have been pulled in pieces” (Acts 23:10). So they took him by force
and locked him away in a castle. The next night the Lord himself spoke to Paul,
and what a word he brought: “Cheer up! There’s even more trouble to come!”

The cost of following Christ was clear in the lives of these men of God—and
if we are going to be like our Master, then we must embrace this cost as well.
Enduring it becomes a joy because Jesus promises to stand with us in every
situation. And we can face anything or anyone when we know the Lord stands with
us.

So count the cost and know that your reward, in all things, is the precious
presence of Jesus Christ.
