Shawn Speaks about Mind States

I turned Shawn loose and let him speak about the potential of our mind and thinking.

His “thoughts” turned to these and other topics:

How your mind and brain work.
How your way of thinking affects your life.
What does it mean to be in a state of flow?
How to be your best self.
Would it be good to constantly live in a state of flow?
Extreme patterns of thinking vs. healthy ways of thinking
Can you change how you think?
Be mindful of how you’re thinking.
Be more productive.
Be better relationally, like in communication and understanding.
Be conscious in the moment of how you’re thinking.
What are you trying to accomplish?
What will help you to do it?
Think about it!

What Are You Focusing On?

I did a Facebook Live about the premise that we can get as close to God as we want to. And we can have as much of God as we want. We decide what we will do with our time and attention. We decide how much time we spend in the Word of God, how much time in prayer and worship every day. How we develop ourselves here during our time on Earth will set up the way we will be when we live in Heaven. The results of our heart work here and now are eternal.

Let’s get as close to God as we can and become as much like Him as we can.

It’s up to us how much of God we want in our lives.

I read from a devotional from Candice Simmons who, along with her husband, Brian Simmons have written The Passion Translation of the New Testament and are working on the books of the Old Testament. She also included paragraphs from their book “Throne Room Prayer”.

The Passion Translation is an amazing translation of the Bible that will bring the Bible to life and help you to understand things in a way that were unclear and confusing in other translations.

Please watch my video below and be inspired and challenged to get closer to God every day and become more like Him all the time and get as much of Him as you can possibly have!

Relationally Speaking – The First Goal of Conversation

We talked about the book “Keep Your Love On” by Danny Silk, specifically Chapter 5. We discussed love, truth, faith, and fear. Fear is the enemy of all of the others. There’s no love without truth and vice versa. We should do everything out of love. And we should walk in faith, not fear. Lots of important concepts here. And the first goal of conversation which is understanding, not agreement.

Breaking the Mold and Finding Your Design with Shawn Douglas

Shawn and I discussed the lessons and strategies he has learned from his unusual life experiences. He has been a homeschooler without a “home” for most of his life. In this video he talks about how that has shaped his life. His strategies will help those who need help recovering and handling events and circumstances in a way that is positive and beneficial, instead of debilitating. He is writing a book about these concepts, so follow him on Facebook at Shawn Douglas, Writer.
