Are you waiting on God to do something big for you?
Are you tired of waiting?
If you are in this camp, I know how you feel.
Waiting is part of our spiritual training. Not my favorite part. Is it yours?
But the payoff is worth it.
“I am sure God keeps no one waiting unless He sees that it is good for him to wait.” ~ #CSLewis
I had some thoughts about waiting correctly with the right posture of your heart.
As you listen to this, think about your heart attitude as you go through a period of waiting for your prayers to be answered.
Give God the gift of your faith and trust.
He is blessed by it, and He deserves it.
He is faithful and true.
We can trust Him.
He is in control, and He knows what He’s doing.
So… Let’s “Wait patiently for Him to act”. Psalme 37:7
“I do not know why there is this difference, but I am sure that God keeps no one waiting unless He sees that it is good for him to wait. When you do enter your room, you will find that the long wait has done you some kind of good which you would not have had otherwise. But you must regard it as waiting, not as camping. You must keep on praying for light: and of course, even in the hall, you must begin trying to obey the rules which are common to the whole house. And above all you must be asking which door is the true one; not which pleases you best by its paint and paneling.” – C.S. Lewis
It was an ordinary day and I was doing the ordinary task of sending Gary an encouraging e-mail at work. It was a day in December 2001 just months after 9-11, that day the song “It’s the End of the World as We Know It” played over and over in my head. I really had no ideas at the time how the destruction of the Twin Towers could directly affect our lives, but that song wouldn’t leave my mind. That phrase repeated itself as if the needle of my mental record player was stuck in a groove. I said it out loud to my mom on the phone:”It’s the end of the world as we know it.” She thought that was a little extreme. Extreme. We would hear that word a lot in the coming years – especially with the little suffix -ist attached to it. Islamic extremists – when we were allowed to call them that.
It’s funny, but I can still remember the e-mail I sent to Gary that day. It was from a devotional about how God works behind the scenes, and we don’t know what He’s doing, but someday He will open the curtains and reveal some wonderful plan that He has been working on for our lives. I wrote a personal line or two about how God was going to do something really good for us and to keep trusting Him and believing for things to change for the better.
Day after day I tried to encourage him that things would get better at his job, but his situation kept getting worse and worse until he swore that he was burnt out on technical writing and didn’t want to do it anymore.
He never read the e-mail I wrote that day. I had just pressed “Send” when I heard someone come in the door and I looked up and saw Gary walk in carrying a box. It was the middle of the day. Gary never came home in the middle of the day.
“What are YOU doing here?”, I asked incredulously.
“They laid me off.”

Why did God establish marriage in the first place? What’s it all about?
Find out what the Lord says about it.
The two shall become one.
In this scope we address:
-The problem of prayerlessness in the home
-Thinking of ourselves as one causes us to be nicer to each other
-Helping each other
-Do everything out of love
-It’s important to keep THIS right if you want to get your prayers answered
I have seen good results from praying this prayer for my husband.
I have been praying this prayer for my husband for many years. I have seen changes in his attitudes, thinking, and priorities. I am so thankful that God gave me this prayer so long ago. My husband is a real family man now! He really cares about what happens with our children. He wants to do his part in teaching them important principles and truths that will help them to live their lives in a successful way that fulfills God’s purpose for their lives. He is much more attentive and affectionate with me, too.
I want to know if any of you have prayed this prayer or a similar prayer or if you asked me to pray for your marriage – I would be grateful if you would share with us what God has done in your marriage and in your husband’s heart.
Please leave a comment and testify about what God has done for your marriage, so we can glorify and praise God together.
Thank you in advance!
